Nice netsuke with a traditional image. During the Edo period, it was common for blind men to offer to give massages to passers-by in exchange for money. This piece captures one of those moments. Of a great quality and carving as well as a superb patina. Excellent piece. Meiji period late 19th century. Signed “Kogyoku” in the base. Comes with certificate of appraisal and CITES document.
