About us

SupeinNihonto is a project materialized after several years dedicated to the classic martial arts of Aikido, Kendo and Iaido, but above all fascinated by the collecting of Japanese weapons, works of art of such a fascinating period that fascinates millions of people around the world.

Seeing the difficulty we faced in acquiring authentic samurai swords beyond all the Asian and European replicas and copies that have been going around the world during the last decades, we decided to dedicate ourselves body and soul to find a group of Japanese suppliers that could help us in this task. So we started to study the types of Japanese weapons and armour and their different qualities, we became even more interested in Japanese readings and culture and in the most practical and affordable methods of importing with the help of a group of contacts we could trust to start this arduous journey.

For some time now we have been travelling to Japan once or twice a year and we search through the Japanese flea markets that house these types of pieces in search of interesting objects and we meet with contacts in different parts of the country.

We have customers all over the world, but more generally in Europe, where countries such as France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany have a large number of collectors. We try to supply them through our articles in European auctions or directly by finding interesting pieces that they can request.

The intention of this page is to provide to any person who wants to have in his possession an authentic Japanese weapon, from Wakizashis to Katanas passing by Tantos or Naginatas; besides other pieces of equal historical and artistic value as Koshiraes, Tsubas, etc.

Our short and medium term goal is to acquire pieces of all kinds so that everyone has the option to buy an authentic piece: from avid collectors with high budgets to first time buyers who may just want to have an affordable piece to display in their home or business and in this way bring our passion to the rest of the westerners.

Our aim is that when buying a piece in SupeinNihonto our customers can be confident that it is a real piece made by authentic Japanese forgers using traditional forging techniques and quality materials such as Tamahagane, the steel used to make this type of piece.
