Refined Japanese tsuba in shakudō signed Ōmi Yasumasa saku , executed in the classical kinko tradition during the first half of the 20th century. The guard presents a richly worked surface with a deep black shakudō ground — an alloy of copper with gold, patinated to achieve its characteristic lustrous black-violet tone — serving as an elegant backdrop for an abundant floral composition.
The plate is densely decorated with chrysanthemum blossoms rendered in high relief using multi-metal iroe work. The flowers display alternating finishes in gold, silver-tone and copper alloys, creating strong visual depth and refined contrast against the dark ground. The carving is crisp and controlled, reflecting the technical discipline of modern Japanese metalworkers consciously working within Edo kinko aesthetics.
The nakago-ana is framed by a well-finished gilt seppa-dai, whose surface bears a signature.
