Beautiful antique wakizashi o kissaki, probably old muromachi period Katana transformed in the early Edo period. It was common to transform longer swords in good condition and of very good quality in wakizashis or shorter katanas to adapt to the combats of the Edo period, which occurred in smaller spaces than the old battlefields. Many were used in the cities for defense and needed a shorter size to adapt to these situations and not get stuck in furniture or columns. It has a long kissaki that gives it a lot of character in addition to the rough jihada typical of that time. The koshirae is of excellent quality and is in almost pristine condition given its age. First quality materials such as the large silver kojiri on the saya or the shakudo fuchi (copper and gold alloy) with gold plated shishis. It also has a great rarity and is that the tsuka is usually wrapped in stingray skin but this one is wrapped in snakeskin. An authentic and precious piece for collectors, I definitely recommend this piece for any self-respecting collection.
The blade is in old japanese polish remaining in good condition, the jihada of the steel is detailed and full of details to appreciate. A masterpiece Worthly a museum and a great addition to any private collection.
An Authentic nihonto japanese sword, difficult to find in Europe, without the consequent costs of importing from Japan or from Japanese sellers, which can increase the price of the sword by up to 30% and a months waiting for shipment and custom paperwork.
