Beautiful wakizashi Signed “Yoshimichi” in an excellent state of preservation both for its blade and its elegant koshirae, all original from the Edo period (circa 1750). Despite being a wakizashi can be considered almost a katana given the length of the blade, as it measures 59.6 cm when the size to be considered long katana is 60 cm, so there is only a difference of less than half a centimeter. The koshirae has very decorative and high quality elements such as the black lacquered saya with tiny pearl inlays or the fuchi kashira with motifs carved in high relief or its menukis in the form of kirin (Japanese mythological animal) in gold plated bronze. The polished sword is in exceptional condition with a sharp hamon and an elegant Hada pattern. A great opportunity to own an authentic centuries old samurai piece at an unbeatable price.
