Muromachi Period Katana Attributed to Taira Takada with double NBTHK Hozon certificare: One for the blade and other for the koshirae. This exceptional katana, attributed to the prestigious Takada school in Bungo province (modern-day Oita prefecture), reflects the rich history and craftsmanship of the late Muromachi period. The blade is mumei and comes with a NBTHK Hozon Token certificate, affirming its authenticity. Its very uncommon find a katana with the double certificate for blade and koshirae. This type of double certificate makes the swords revalued in the future as it attests to the authenticity not only of the blade but also of all the pieces and of being a complete set of koshirae.
A very healthy blade with a superb polish on the blade, with only a few small details and superficial scratches that do not affect the quality and strength of the sword. You can clearly see the quality of the sword and the beautiful jihada and hamon produced by the tamahagane steel forging process that used different densities and folds to make Japanese swords, the best swords ever created.
