Beautiful nihonto signed “Sagami no kami 相模守” in original koshirae from the edo period and also with shirasaya and sunagi blade mount. Fantastic sword with a suguha style hamon very visible thanks to a superb polishing. The sword is in superb condition given its centuries of age. Belonging to the Edo period, this sword has a beautiful ivory silk tsuka ito. These colors were reserved for high-ranking samurai or daimyos because of their symbolism of purity and because it was not common for them to engage in direct combat regularly which would make them dirty quickly. Very old iron tsuba with some gold and silver inlays and shakudo fuchi kashira complete this beautiful and elegant sword that will certainly delight the guests and will be a great investment in the near future as these pieces are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain, especially this type in practically immaculate condition.
The blade is in old japanese polish remaining in good condition, the jihada of the steel is detailed and full of details to appreciate. A masterpiece Worthly a museum and a great addition to any private collection.
