Beautiful antique katana sword signed “Hizen kuni ju Omi Daijo Fujiwara Tadayoshi” with a mastery horimono and bohi carving what makes this sword outstanding and very stylish. These swords with a high quality horimono are very difficult to see and expensive as the extra hand work requires many hours and a great deal of control that requires special work. signed by a master smith “Hizen kuni jyu Ohmi Daijo Fujiwara Tadayoshi” in koshirae and shirasaya attributed from NBTHK, the most important association in japan of the ancient samurai swords with a Hozon token, special importance sword.
The 4th gen. Tadayoshi was born to Mutsu (no) Kami in 1668 and he became known as Omi Daijo Tadayoshi, working from circa 1686 until his death in 1747. Well polished blade with a visible hamon, the blade features beautiful detailing on the jihada as well as crystals on the hamon making it a fantastic choice for any collection. The elements of the koshirae are of good quality, including an elegant Edo tsuba with carving works and inlays, stingray samegawa saya with a full recovery of stingray skin, a very expensive work, tsuka with bronze elements as well as the menukis and gold and silver leaf detailing. Some of the elements are from the Edo period while others have been repaired or upgraded to be in perfect condition which ensures that the sword is in an almost immaculate state of preservation. A great opportunity to own an authentic centuries old samurai piece at an unbeatable price.
Blade is in very good condition due to aging. Not hagire and not fatal damage, of course. This is a japanese weapon so have a real historical value. This is a weapon with centuries, not machine crafted so can be minor movements of saya, tsuka, tsuba, etc. Because of dilatation, humidity, etc. and little damages propers of his age like small rust, scratches, etc.
