Beautiful signed sword 備州長船住兼光 Bishu Osafune ju Kanemitsu From early Edo or azuchi Momoyama with an excellent antique koshirae, very elegant and in great condition. High class fittings in all the mounting koshirae. The blade are in a very good polish in almost all the blade, with a beautiful and vivid hamon and several excelent details in the jihada. It is a very well constructed and solid sword. Kanemitsu is a very important line of swordsmiths that stretches back to the late Kamakura period and has left great swords that are appreciated all over the world. Although this sword is signed as 備州長船住兼光 Bishu Osafune ju Kanemitsu, the first of his name is likely to belong to one of his later disciples.
