Blade<\/h3>\n

This is a katana of elegant and well-balanced proportions. The blade is formed in shinogi-zukuri<\/strong> with iori-mune<\/strong>, showing moderate curvature and a properly proportioned ch\u016b-kissaki<\/strong>. The overall sugata is restrained, classical, and functional, conveying the quiet authority of a traditionally shaped Japanese sword rather than relying on flamboyance.<\/p>\n

The hamon<\/strong> appears to be a rather restrained, suguha-based<\/strong> temper line, perhaps with very slight undulation, visible yet somewhat veiled by the current surface condition. The jihada<\/strong> is sover and elegant.<\/p>\n

The nakago<\/strong> preserves an appropriate old patina, with two mekugi-ana<\/strong> visible. The signature is cut on the omote side and matches the reading given in both the torokusho and the NBTHK paper. The overall condition is honest and respectable, showing normal signs of age and use together with some surface marks and clouding consistent with an old blade. Very discreetly, there is also a small trace of old oxidation along the mune<\/strong>, minor and stable in character, and in no way detrimental to the sword\u2019s overall presence.<\/p>\n

Koshirae<\/h3>\n

The sword is mounted in a full koshirae<\/strong> of understated but highly attractive appearance. The saya<\/strong>, finished in glossy black lacquer, gives the mounting a clean and elegant visual profile, further enhanced by a blue sageo<\/strong> that adds a particularly refined chromatic contrast.<\/p>\n
